About 200 of us gathered at Wythenshawe Farm over the weekend for a community carols event complete with cattle shed, donkey, chickens, bull and Christmas cheer! It went out live on Wythenshawe FM, our local radio station and around 6 churches worked together to plan it.
st. marks began a Jesse Tree a couple of weeks ago and we're inviting local community groups, residents and workers to add to the tree. It is really a tree of life for us - and tomorrow at the Tree of Life Christmas celebration we'll work on it some more. These are symbols of faith, memory and of prayer. The carols event, the one world festival Oasis Space run by churches together and the Jesse Tree are all ways of bridging the gap, branching out and of finding ways of connecting with who we are part of - God, our local community and each other.
