Christian Unity - North Western Synod visit Taiwan

A group from North Western Synod of The United Reformed Church spent the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. This photo is of the group with The Associate General Secretary of PCT Revd James CC Pan and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Chiayi. For the first time ever the Roman Catholics and the Presbyterians in Taiwan worshipped together and the United Reformed Church celebrated with them!

The NW group went to Chiayi Presbytery in Taiwan to begin a Covenant Partnership with them including solidarity actions, church to church twinning and youth exchanges.

The 11-day visit included worship, a Presbytery meeting, visit to Longshan Buddhist Temple, visit to Changhua Christian Hospital, local community projects in Chiayi and sharing discussions about mission, strategy, solidarity and outreach. The group who visited will share for 30mins at NW Synod gathering in March in Bolton and info will go to every local church in NW Synod about our new partnership.

Comments from the group:
An experience of a lifetime
Lifechanging
Just what I needed to boost me in the local church
I will never be the same again!
I hope to come back here next year on holiday and see more with my wife.
I never thought I would be doing this at 70! 70 is the new 50!
