Church Community Gathering

This Sunday's Church Community Gathering will involve all people gathered in learning about and planning for:
  • Messy Church - launching in January 2008 - the team will introduce themselves and what Messy Church is about, who it is for and why we're starting & supporting it.

Parklands High School ministry - Revd Angie Tunstall will visit to share what's happening at the school already & the ways in which we at St. Marks can get involved in supporting pupils and teachers at our nearby high school in practical and prayerful ways.

Civic Centre Chaplaincy - being a Christian presence within the civic centre in Wythenshawe with other local churches too.

Oasis Space - your chance to share in the creation of a new space in the building where people can sit, pray, wonder, relax, set aside time with God in an ordinary day. This is a project to be completed by end 2008 and will involve some adapting of the communion area at church.

Street Pastors in Wythenshawe - a nightime venture involving new partnerships with other followers of Jesus in Wythenshawe. More at the gathering!

Care Team - people will be introduced to the new group who are listening, praying, being alongside and supporting people locally in these communities we are part of.

Community House Scheme - St. Marks members offering hospitality & welcome to neighbours younger and older from our homes, beginning where people live not where the church building is.

Food Group in Woodhouse Park - working with Wythenshawe Community Initiative (the Family Centre) to grow, cook, eat and share food and food related things!

There'll be more at the gathering! Hope you'll come along. All church members are expected.

Thanks, Kate
