Carbon Community Renewables School

Went to an interesting and helpful training day yesterday which may progress our initial planning for utilising our building adjacent the church and Tree of Life Centre in Wythenshawe. Some positive stories of communities acting together in inspiring ways to benefit themselves and others in saving money and saving the planet by reducing carbon.
Good for us to think more about:
  • how do we refurb the old care home in an ecological and financially sustainable way
  • how can the house be self-financing
  • do we need to investigate and research more about the needs & gaps in Woodhouse Park
  • do we want to be paid to do service provision or not - what are the pros & cons
  • in what ways can ventures be focussed more on skilling volunteers than paying staff - initially
  • should we think about paying staff
  • do we need to do some quirky community consultation - in the middle of winter?!!
all ideas you have please feel free to share about the above here!
