We remember all people who are affected by war, conflict, torture and terror.
We pray for people motivated by violence.
We pray for people motivated by peace-planting.
We pray for a new vision of shalom in Afghanistan and Iraq and Myanmar and Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka and Palestine and Israel.
We remember people who are conscientious objectors.
We remember people who are part of private armies.
We pray for people who long to return to the forces because they want to belong again.
We pray for people who return from wars and suffer post traumatic stress disorder.
We pray for governments and armies who use illegal torture against fellow humans.
We pray for restoration of harmony, hope, healing.
We pray for justice with peace.
We pray for our enemies and those who have persecuted us - that we may not dehumanise as we have been dehumanised.
We pray we will be wise as serpents in responding to organised and complex violence.
We pray we will be wise as midwives in responding to sacrifice and ending of life.
God - be with us all in our daily and hourly judgements.
God - be with those still in Guantanamo and all places similar.
God - be with us and do not let us sleep well until all our fellow humans enjoy fullness of life.
Transform our fear.
Make real your shalom.
May we love your world and its people and seek to be organised against evil by loving wisdom in flesh.
Amen
