Make a little Advent Tree - I am loving the one by Entertaining Monsters - which uses a fallen branch, sprayed gold/silver and adding one simple act each day up to Christmas. Some of our ideas with my tot are: to make a gingerbread lantern house (one to eat, one to paint with glue & glitter), cut snowflakes from scrap white paper/envelopes, draw a nativity scene on our front window with window crayons, make some green spirulina flavoured popcorn, weave an all-seeing advent eye with scrap wool to hang in our hallway, spray some fallen autumnal pinecones gold for our seasonal nature table, make some playdough gift jars for little friends, make some red paint potato print cards & gift tags, make a wintery colours watercolour painting...wonder what you will do! Reflection below for you - written by me. Please link back here if you use it elsewhere. Thanks. Blessings for Advent.
Sacred Advent Journey:
inspiring queues in shops to remember the season of slowing down
challenging times getting up for work to learn to greet the dark of the morning
frost on the car to learn to give a little time to the art of scraping off crystals
writing to do lists for festive menus remembering the gift of cooking for friends
stretching out a pay packet to be reminded of the importance of living simply
creating space for fireside candlelit stories remembering wonder
