Day 19 - Advent Reflection - Nativities from around the world

This week I have had several conversations with people from around the world whilst I am based in Taiwan about nativity stories - the stories of Jesus being born. There are lots of different ways of creatively presenting the stories but one church in the UK, a United Reformed Church, which is the denomination I am minister with, decided last week to have a display of 150 different scenes with figures of Mary (Jesus Mum), baby Jesus and Joseph (Jesus Dad) decorated with these sets from around the world. Here is the link to a short 4 min film about them. Radford Road United Reformed Church Nativities, UK
Reflect today on:
Perhaps you would consider setting up a Nativity Scene in your home this year, on your desk at work, next to a fireplace or in the window - a friend of mine made a cut out scene of paper and pasted it onto her large front window which was really eye-catching for passers-by. What could you do where you are today that will re-present the story of Jesus birth for Christmastime in your country?
